On 13-15 May, and subsequently, on 2 July 2014, the team from the Laboratory of Palaeoecology and Archaeobotany University of Gdańsk, with technical support from dr Michał Woszczyk, Adam Mickiewicz University, and dr hab. Wojciech Tylmann, Institute of Geography University of Gdańsk, secured sediment cores from lakes Byszyno and Rybackie to the south of Białogard, in a region with evidence on occupation by the Dębczyno Group and relics of early medieval settlements. The overarching aim of the planned palaeoecological research is reconstructing the settlement dynamics in the region during the first millennium AD.
