Dr Bartłomiej Rogalski will be responsible for managing and leading excavation, as well as for supervising a group of 15 student from the Institute of Archaeology from the University of Warsaw. Professor Aleksander Bursche will be present at the site as a consultant. The paleobotanic analysis are also to be made. This task rests on the shoulders of the team of paleobotanist from the University of Gdańsk, under the leadership of Professor Małgorzata Latałowa. We will keep you informed about the progress of our works at this site.

Kroczyce 2013

Also in July we begin to investigate another site – Kroczyce (Jura Krakowsko-Częstochowska region), where the "Hanging Cave" is located. To plan and organise the work at the site, as well as to transport the necessary equipment was tough nut to crack. The cave is located in the area, which is under environmental protection (the program NATURA 2000). In progress of preparations, the cave has been scanned by using 3D scanner. This task has been done by the team from Institute of Archaeology – Janusz Janowski and Marta Bura. The management of this site lies in the hands of Marcin Rudnicki, who will cooperate with Maciej Sobczyk and Mikołaj Urbanowski. A group of 25 students from Warsaw, Cracow and Szczecin will work together in the cave. Several others consultants have been invited to cooperate, among them paleobotanists from University of Gdańsk with Professor Małgorzata Latałowa, furthermore geologist, geomorphologist and chiropetrologist. The news from the field will be published on our web-site.
